Hyppykeli.fi is a weather service for skydivers, providing current observations and forecasts for wind gusts, direction, cloud coverage, and cloud height. Data comes from FMI observation stations and Digitraffic road weather stations. Upper-wind forecasts come from Open-Meteo, and METAR messages from the Flyk.com API.

Forecasts are available anywhere in Finland, but useful observations require a nearby observation station.

The service was created by Esa-Matti Suuronen with help from other skydiving nerds and is free for everyone. The GPL-licensed source code is available on GitHub.

Hyppykeli.fi on laskuvarjohyppääjien sääpalvelu, joka tarjoaa ajankohtaisia havaintotietoja sekä ennusteita tuulen puuskasta, suunnasta sekä pilvien määrästä ja korkeudesta. Tiedot haetaan Ilmatieteen laitoksen havaintoasemilta ja Digitrafficin tiesääasemilta. Ylätuulien ennusteet haetaan Open-Meteosta ja METAR-sanomat Flyk.comin rajapinnasta.

Ennusteet voidaan tehdä minne tahansa Suomeen, mutta hyödyllisiä havaintotietoja on saatavilla vain, jos havaintoasema on lähellä.

Palvelun on luonut Esa-Matti Suuronen muiden nörttihyppääjien avustuksella. Palvelu on ilmainen ja avoin kaikille. GPL-lisensoitu lähdekoodi löytyy GitHubista.
